So South Beach is mostly hype. Spent a few days there with Ivan almost 2 weeks ago. It's made out as this wonderful, glamourous place but it needs a lot of work. Everything is extremely expensive, the buildings are old and some even crumbling, the beach was loaded with garbage. The food and service at most places is mediocre at best. While most of Ocean Drive was nice, some areas were very run down. Still, there was something fascinating about it and I did have a good time while I was there. Not the best place I've been, but I probably would go back.
